maybe it was my strong desire to escape the northeast winter, the fantastic company that surrounded me, or the perfect california light... whatever the case may be, beautiful san diego captured my heart and thawed my bones.
the calming smell of jasmine that filled the air :: laughing until it hurt with my bestest :: the most decadent fish tacos i have ever tasted :: kava elixirs and yoga mornings :: putting aside my camera to breath it all in (but sneaking in a few shots along the way)... these are the memories that will stay with me until i return.
a special thank you to my dearest friend, lauren, and her wonderful family and friends for an amazing adventure. san diego will always feel like home!
FAMILY SESSION WITH JUSTIN & BETHANY
i took a walk in the woods with my dear friends and neighbors, Justin and Bethany with their new babe Grayson, and Nelson (the pup). we set out to get a few holiday card photos and found that there is something quite extraordinary about photographing on a misty day. after playing in the woods we headed indoors for some hot cocoa and christmas light fun!

FAMILY ADVENTURE AT ROCK CREEK PARK
i met Lesli and Josh with their sons, Miles and Ellis, for an adventure at Rock Creek Park one fall afternoon. we climbed and swung, gathered and explored, fished and wished, until the sun nearly set. this family is so full of imagination, fun and energy and the close bond between them was really beautiful to capture. i was so happy to share this lovely day with them.
MOLLY TURNS ONE!
Molly is one... going on eighteen, and if mom and dad didn't throw her a party to remember (which they did), she would have had one all on her own! this little girl has such an independent spirit and sense of adventure that i imagine she'll be blazing down I-95 on her motorcycle in sixteen years... red hair blowing in the wind...
my friends, Marty and Michelle, are in for a lifetime of fun and excitement with this little one. i love hearing the stories that you provoke and i'm so looking forward to watching you grow. happiest of birthdays sweet Molly!
MATERNITY SESSION WITH SONIA AND ASHISH
i met my good friends, Sonia and Ashish and their daughter Riya, at Burke Lake Park one afternoon in august. they were getting ready to welcome another baby girl to their family and i was beyond happy to spend the day talking with them about their upcoming adventure. Sonia has such an inner glow and sense of calm about her during a pregnancy, which is why i imagine, her babes are just as sweet as can be. i'm looking forward to hearing all about life with two! congratulations my friends ... enjoy the ride!
